Living Room Tour

Kelly over at Kelly's Korner is hosting Show Us Where You Live Friday. Last week was the kitchen tour. This week is the Living Room Tour and I'm happy to join in the fun!

This is the main view looking in from the family room (den). This room is at the front of the house and the windows look out into the front yard. I like that this room is neutral and somewhat monochromatic because it lends itself well to changing out with my whims, er, I mean the seasons.

This is the more formal of my two living areas. The accessories in there remind me of our faith and the promise of new life! It's a great room for bible study! Moving from the main view to the left you will find one of my favorite spring decor items - an apothecary jar with reindeer moss and a sweet bird nest with 2 eggs.

Panning to the right more signs of new life - if you look closely, vintage bird egg print on vellum and a precious hospital picture of BBC!

Continuing on to the right. OK - so the fake ficus doesn't exactly reflect new life but needed something to fill up that corner. I think when we repaint a warmer color the room will draw in and feel more cozy and less cool. The wall really isn't as blank as it appears. Just to the left is a huge picture flanked with iron sconces. For some reason I didn't capture that in any of my pictures.

This is the view when you walk in my front door. The living room opens to the family room via these french doors.

And we'll end the tour with a sneak peek at the family room. I just completely overhauled this room and you can check out before and after photos here. I am still tweaking both rooms as we slowly recover from the redo. But no rest for the weary - we are moving onto the next room redo very soon.
